Obama Has All The Answers

I sure am glad we don't have to drill for oil anymore. All we have to do is inflate our tires, and it will be like we're paying $1/gallon at the pump.

The Rich Don't Pay Taxes?

"Washington is teeing up "the rich" for a big tax hike next year, as a way to make them "pay their fair share." Well, the latest IRS data have arrived on who paid what share of income taxes in 2006, and it's going to be hard for the rich to pay any more than they already do. The data show that the 2003 Bush tax cuts caused what may be the biggest increase in tax payments by the rich in American history."

"The nearby chart shows that the top 1% of taxpayers, those who earn above $388,806, paid 40% of all income taxes in 2006, the highest share in at least 40 years. The top 10% in income, those earning more than $108,904, paid 71%. Barack Obama says he's going to cut taxes for those at the bottom, but that's also going to be a challenge because Americans with an income below the median paid a record low 2.9% of all income taxes, while the top 50% paid 97.1%. Perhaps he thinks half the country should pay all the taxes to support the other half."

"The idea that this has been a giveaway to the rich is a figment of the left's imagination. Taxes paid by millionaire households more than doubled to $274 billion in 2006 from $136 billion in 2003. No President has ever plied more money from the rich than George W. Bush did with his 2003 tax cuts. These tax payments from the rich explain the very rapid reduction in the budget deficit to 1.9% of GDP in 2006 from 3.5% in 2003."

"If Mr. Obama does succeed in raising tax rates on the rich, we'd also wager that the rich share of tax payments would fall. The last time tax rates were as high as the Senator wants them -- the Carter years -- the rich paid only 19% of all income taxes, half of the 40% share they pay today. Why? Because they either worked less, earned less, or they found ways to shelter income from taxes so it was never reported to the IRS as income."

It is disturbing to me the way we are headed. We have the top 50% of this country paying almost all the bills for the bottom 50% of this country.

Raising a Nation of Imbeciles

(WSB Radio/AP) -- The number of Georgia schools meeting federal No Child Left Behind requirements plummeted this year after thousands of students failed state math tests.

Data released by the Georgia Department of Education on Friday show just 69 percent of schools made ``adequate yearly progress,'' compared to about 82 percent last year. It's the lowest AYP rate for Georgia in four years.

Elementary schools declined from 95.6% to 76.4%. Middle schools fell from 65.3% to 64.9%. High schools declined from 56.0% to 47.8%.

Schools that miss AYP two years in a row are put on the ``needs improvement'' list. Those schools must offer extra tutoring for struggling students and give parents the option to send their children to another, higher-performing school.

AYP is measured based on math and reading test scores, attendance, graduation rates and other factors.

Cost of Government Day...

...was July 16th. That means that YOU worked over 1/2 a year to pay for all federal, state, and local taxes. Now you are working for yourself. It's funny...actually sad, that government spending was the highest over part of the Reagan, Bush Sr. and the current Bush administration. What a shame. I thought Republicans were supposed to be the party of small government.

Democrats and the Poor

I always thought democrats were supposed to be for the poor. Why then are they sending homeless people to the zoo during the Democrat National Convention? Why don't they want them near their convention? Why don't they invite them in to partake in the activities? Surely they aren't suggesting the homeless belong at the zoo...are they? :)

President Bush Lifts Executive Ban on Drilling

It's about time our government got out of the way. All we're waiting for now is the democrat-led Congress to act. Or as President Bush says, "The only thing standing between the American people and these vast oil resources is action from the U.S. Congress."

Congress' 9% Approval Rating

"The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job."

"Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008."

"The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month."

Even democrats have expressed a decline in approval of their own democrat-led congress. Is this the "new direction" democrats promised Americans? You're doing a great job on the hill Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid. Keep it up!

America's Christian Heritage

I was listening to David Barton for the first time today on my ride home from work. He was speaking on Focus on the Family's AM Radio broadcast. I was very impressed. Mr. Barton is a very well-spoken man, and has done tireless research as a historian to prove that America was indeed founded on Christian principles and by many Christian men. He enlightened me and explained away many misconceptions passed along to me by my pitiful public school education. I thought this appropriate as we celebrate the 4th of July to shed some light on TRUE American history.

Below is the only good thing I could find on YouTube.

For more info, you can listen to his excellent debunking of the "Separation of Church and State" which is what I heard on the radio today by clicking here and listening to the July 3rd address.

Barton is the Founder of WallBuilders. You can visit his website by clicking here

Shale oil

You can't tell me "big" oil doesn't invest money in R&D...money that would be taken by democrats via taxes. Shell got 1,800 barrels of oil from a tiny 30ft X 40ft shale patch in the Rockies...minimal earth disruption. So much for looting and plundering our mother Earth.

Democrats

This is why you pay a lot at the pump...because of the environmentalists and democrats in Congress. In this video, Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, says oil and coal make us "sick" because of global warming. So, because of a hoax, our fellow democrats in Congress are digging in their heels and they are perfectly content with Americans paying a lot at the pump. Unbelievable.

Hurry and go sign this petition to Drill Here, Drill Now, and Pay Less! Democrats in Congress can only thumb their nose at the American people for so long.
