Illegal Immigration

When are we going to do something about illegal immigration? Here we have members of the Mexican Army who are in our country committing home invasions and homicides. It is outrageous that our government has not done anything to stop illegal immigration. In fact, doesn't this constitute an act of war? Members of the Mexican Army are in our country killing people and one interviewed said they were prepared to ambush police officers. A sovereign nation invading another sovereign nation. Why are we not retaliating?

Obama On Privatizing Social Security

• "Social Security is strong"

• "Let me be clear, privatizing social security was a bad idea when George Bush proposed it, and it's a bad idea today"
  

• "It would gamble retirement plans of millions of Americans on the stock market. Imagine if your social security right now was tied up with the DOW Jones. How would you feel when you woke up in the morning and heard that the DOW was down 400 points?"

Those are Obama's quotes on the video above. If you listen carefully and read between the lines, you will observe his blatant support of socialism.

• First, Social Security is not strong. It's on the verge of bankruptcy because politicians borrowed (ie: stole) the funds' money and used it for other things.
  
• Second, we shouldn't even have social security as it is a socialist program, but since we do, privatizing it should be up to the people. It is NOT up to you Obama. It is our (the taxpayers) money.
  
• Third, it would "gamble" our money on the stock market, and we'd be distraught to find out the DOW was down one day? Unless you're a day trader, a one day drop in the stock market will not affect you. Historically, the stock market has a proven 12% return. You keep your money in for the long term. If the stock market is so bad, why are there millions of people with 401k retirement plans? Plus, and this is a big plus, are we not gambling when we give our money to you (government)? As mentioned above, our beloved government stole the money meant for social security and used it for something else, and it's now on the verge of bankruptcy. Young people will not see a dime after being forced to contribute for 30-40 years. I believe I'll "feel more confident" with my money in a medium that has shown a 12% return instead of putting it in the hands of an inept government.

You see folks, Obama doesn't think you can be trusted with your OWN money. He believes government is the answer to everything, and he believes the government knows how to spend your money best. He is a blatant socialist. He will take your money, by force via taxes, and tell you how it's best spent, and NOT even give you the option to keep your money to invest it the way you see fit. America is in trouble.

"It’s alarming to say the least,” Detective Steve Hill told MyFOXOrlando.com. “While the photos are not enough make a case for a child abuse charge, we are very concerned about Allen’s actions and are continuing to investigate.”

Okay, aside from the fact that this guy is a five time felon and should be in jail, and aside from the fact that not all the pictures are the epitome of firearm safety, why is it that people always react negatively (mostly the media and liberals) when you mix children with firearms? Even though I wholeheartedly agree this criminal should be in jail, I saw the opportunity to use this story to discuss children and firearms. Now, in my opinion, this girl does look a little young to be handling firearms, but that should be up to each individual law-abiding parent to decide, not the government.

In fact, it was common, in the younger days of this country, for children to handle and use firearms. Nobody thought twice about it. In fact, one of our founding fathers, Richard Henry Lee, who was the 6th President of the Continental Congress after the Ratification of the Articles of Confederation, said this about gun ownership in America...

“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”

But now that the country has become increasingly more liberal, people are shocked when they see children around firearms. Before the liberals get all up in arms, no pun intended, let me go through a few FACTS.

• Motor Vehicle Accidents - 7.8 per 100,000 population
• Drowning - 3.6 per 100,000 population
• Exposure to smoke, fire, & flames - 1.8 per 100,000 population
• Falls - 0.3 per 100,000 population
• Accidental Firearm Discharge - 0.2 per 100,000 population
• Poisoning - 0.2 per 100,000 population

So, as you can see, children are more likely to be killed in a motor vehicle accident, by drowning, by being exposed to fire, or by falling than they are to be killed by accidentally discharging a firearm. The funny thing is, I don't see people getting upset when they see children riding in cars, or swimming in pools, or taking baths, or playing on tall playgrounds in the park. But put a firearm in a child's hands, and "Oh, the horror!".

Now, am I advocating turning children loose with firearms? Absolutely not. Firearms are deadly and children should always be supervised if they are ever around them, just as children should be supervised in a pool, in the bathtub, or on playground equipment in a park. All I am saying is that people need to make decisions and form their opinions around facts, not emotions.

This is funny, but it does illustrate the people Barack chooses to associate himself with. You're known by the company you keep.

Police State in D.C.

D.C. is an embarrassment. As our nation's capital, D.C. should be the shining city on a hill...an exemplification of freedom and liberty for the world to see. But it's not. It's a crime infested place with minimal liberty. Because of its high crime rate, police are going to set up roadblocks in the Trinidad neighborhood to stop people and verify their reason for being in that particular neighborhood before they will be allowed to proceed. This is wrong. People should be free to come and go as they please, and they shouldn't be stopped without a reasonable cause.

Maybe it's just me, but why can't D.C. understand, by reviewing the facts, that states and cities with unrestricted firearm ownership have lower crime rates? It's no surprise that D.C. is very anti-gun and consequently has a very high crime rate. As some of you may know, the D.C. gun ban is making its way through the Supreme Court this year.

Here's a novel idea. Let people protect themselves. Let them bear arms. Let freedom ring. Then watch the crime rates go down.

More bus beatings...

I had a post back in May about Georgia HB89 that was signed into law by our governor. Atlanta's public transit system (MARTA) was up in arms about law abiding citizens carrying concealed firearms on public transit. Well, here's another bus brawl caught on tape. Yet another reason people should be able to protect themselves on public transit.

Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less!

Gas prices are high, and it's not the oil companies' fault as the Congress wants you to believe. Congress, pressured by environmental lobbyists, are preventing us from becoming energy independent by thwarting exploration in the name of the Global Warming HOAX. Not only that, the oil companies make only a 4% profit margin (much less than other corporations) on each gallon of gasoline sold while the government makes 20% in taxes for doing absolutely nothing to produce, refine, or distribute the oil. And they have the gall to drag oil executives in to a Senate hearing and point fingers at them for their profits??? It's all about demagoguing for votes. You and I are paying for Congress' inaction and ineptness. If you're fed up, do something about it.

Glenn Beck Speaks at the 2008 NRA Annual Meeting - A True Patriot!

I love Glenn Beck...even though I have to watch him on CNN. He's fed up with our government, and so am I! Here he is speaking at the 2008 NRA annual meetings. Be sure to tune in to part 2 where he quotes our Founding Fathers on the 2nd Amendment. I wish I lived during the founding of this country. How refreshing it would be to live where men were truly free...you know, the give me liberty or give me death attitude...not this quasi freedom we fool ourselves into believing we have secured as Americans today.

Outrageous

We really have lost control of our government. Not only are our federal government representatives driving luxury cars on our dime among other things, FOX News is running a special on pork spending tonight at 8pm. It highlights two Republicans and one Democrat (Don't tell me FOX isn't fair and balanced). It details how they used bill earmarks for personal gain.

Will this be enough to eradicate the apathy people have about the government who controls them every day? I doubt it. I'm sure Desperate Housewives will take precedent. Folks, that's the reason our country is in trouble today, and that's the reason these government officials can get away with this. We the people don't hold our government accountable any longer.
