Your kids belong to the government, not you!

"Parents do not have a constitutional right to home school their children" says Justice H. Walker Croskey. The judge further wrote, "A primary purpose of the educational system is to train school children in good citizenship, patriotism and loyalty to the state and the nation as a means of protecting the public welfare." What a twisted view of the general welfare clause of the Constitution. Which Constitution are these judicial activists who legislate from the bench reading from? First off, there is no Constitutional right to education. The Department of Education is unconstitutional. Second, the Constitution protects the rights of the people and limits the power of the government, not the other way around. This judge is sorely mistaken. Our children belong to us, not the government. The problem with Constitutional law is that lawyers and judges focus more on case law than they do on focusing on what the Constitution states and focusing on the writings of the Founding Fathers written around the formation of the Constitution.

Furthermore, who was happy about the decision? The Teacher's Union.
"We're happy," said Lloyd Porter, who is on the California Teachers Association board of directors. "We always think students should be taught by credentialed teachers, no matter what the setting." You mean the same credentialed teachers who are sleeping with their students, dumbing down standards to pass more kids, and even teachers who are functionally illiterate? Are those the credentialed teachers we're talking about? The bottom line is that this is job security for the teacher's union employees. Don't believe for one minutes that the union cares about the education of the students. It's about jobs.
