...they are in the business of demagoguing in order to gain power. So, here we have Rep. Kanjorski saying they (Democrats) knew good and well they couldn't end the war, but they played on the ignorance of the dumb masses in America and got the votes they wanted. Despicable.
It's hard to make out what he says, but here it is..."That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn't true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts...and people ate it up."
